iZen Garden is a beautiful app to both look at and listen to.

Every day when you start iZen Garden(TM), you’ll be greeted with your “Daily Zen” – a tiny bit of Zen Wisdom to help put you in the right state of mind. A relaxing ambient soundtrack plays in the background. You select a bonsai tree, some stones, some leaves from the over 100 objects included. You rake, creating beautiful circular ripples in the sand. When it’s finished, you can fire up the meditation timer and sit in quiet contemplation, or even better, share your beautiful creation with your friends and family on Twitter, or through Email.

A Zen App Alternative : Personal Zen (iOS)

personal zenPersonal Zen recently found popularity via a LifeHacker article on the app.

The app, for iOS, is free, and claims playing the little game can reduce stress and anxiety within 25 minutes of usage.

The game is based on an emerging cognitive treatment for anxiety called attention-bias modification training (ABMT). In the game, this means tracing your finger on a path towards a smiley zen face. It comes with some attributions from researchers in the ‘Clinical Psychological Science‘ journal, so considering it’s price, may be worth a download.
